If you own a swimming pool, you may be wondering if it's a good idea to leave your solar pool ionizer in the water during closing to keep the water clear for winter. The answer is yes, leaving the solar pool ionizer in the water can help keep your pool water clear during the winter months.
A solar pool ionizer is an electronic device that helps to keep pool water free from bacteria and other debris. The device works by releasing ions into the water, which helps to reduce the amount of bacteria and other contaminants. By doing this, the water becomes more sanitary and generally easier to maintain.
When you close your pool for the winter, it's important to remove any large debris from the water, such as leaves and dirt. However, leaving the solar pool ionizer in the water can help to keep the water clear and clean even when it’s not in use. The ions released by the ionizer help to keep bacteria and other contaminants from building up over the winter months. The ions also help to keep the water balanced, which can help reduce the amount of chemicals you need to add to the pool when you open it back up in the spring.
When you leave the ionizer in the water, you should make sure it is properly functioning. If the ionizer isn’t working correctly, it won’t be able to do its job and your pool water may become cloudy and discolored over the winter. To prevent this, check your ionizer regularly and make sure it is clean and free of debris.
Overall, leaving your solar pool ionizer in the water during closing can help keep your pool water clear for winter. Regular maintenance of the ionizer is important to ensure it is working properly, but it can help reduce the amount of work you need to do to keep your pool in top condition during the winter months.

I have a pool ionizer, so do I take it out when I winterize my pool. If I’m covering the pool I guess I will have to remove it
